The cost to be environmentally conscientious about recycling fluorescent lamps, ballasts and computer components might be overwhelming to some companies, if it weren't for the annual recycling collection sponsored by the Fox Cities Chamber. By negotiating a better-than-market price with Veolia ES Technical Solutions ERD, the Chamber offers its members a cost-effective and safe way to dispose of spent bulbs and other materials.
The 2009 Lamp Recycling event is scheduled for Wednesday, August 19, 2009. Location: Goodwill Industries at the intersection of Hwys. 441 & 47 Time: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
In addition to the bulbs and ballasts and computer components, this year's collection also has been extended to include the recycling of all types of batteries.
Companies that have 300 or more fluorescent bulbs to recycle may make arrangements for a pickup at no additional cost as long as all of the bulbs are in a single Fox Cities location. Requests for pickup must be received by the Chamber office.
As in the past, the Chamber has negotiated the special state rate for our members to help keep recycling costs at a minimum. An additional surcharge is levied for non-Chamber member firms.
Payment policy is cash, check or charge card. The Chamber will not bill anyone for this service. Payment must be made at the time the materials are brought to the recycling site.
Confirmation of the collection site and other details will be forthcoming. To request a full price list, to arrange for an on-site collection, or for other information, please contact the Fox Cities Chamber by calling Thom Ciske, vice president-Government Affairs, at 920-734-7101 or email by clicking here.
